ERIE, Pa. --- Carlow University women's volleyball fell, 3-0, to Penn State Behrend on the road Saturday.
The Lions (15-5, 4-1 AMCC) hit .375 on the day and held the entire Celtics team to just 12 kills. Rebecca Hess tallied five of those kills for Carlow (8-13, 0-5 AMCC).
Behrend hit a blistering .565 to take the first set, 25-12.
The Lions went on a 14-point run at the end of the second set to win, 25-7.
The Celtics fared somewhat better in the final set, tying the score several times throughout the game.
Leading, 17-16, the Lions went on a 5-0 run to gain more of an advantage. The Celtics put together a few kills, but ultimately Behrend came up with the 25-19 victory.
Hannah Phillips led the Lions with 18 kills, and Behrend served eight aces on the day to Carlow's three.
The Celtics hit the road for a 7 p.m. AMCC match at Pitt Greensburg Oct. 25.
