PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University Rocket League Gold lost a 3-1 contest to Mount Aloysius College Tuesday night.

Game 1

Zachary Taylor scored for Carlow just 36 seconds into the match to stake the Celtics a one goal lead.

The Mounties responded with two goals about 30 seconds apart in the second minute of the match making the score 2-1 Mounties. At 1:28 Angelo Fernandez made a nice save, but a light tap-in on the rebound took Mount Aloysius up 3-1.

Taylor scored on a pass once again from Fernandez with 20 seconds left to make it 3-2 which was the final score of game one.

Game 2

Carlow came out strong from the opening kick and Brady Fest scored off a turnover at 4:18 taking Carlow up 1-0 once again.

Five mins of regulation was not enough to determine the victor of game two as the score remained deadlocked 2-2 at the beginning of overtime. Each team put together multiple quality chances, but it took an additional 3:42 of extra play before Mount Aloysius was able to drive home the winning goal.

Game 3

Carlow opened game three down 0-2 in the match and hoping to stave off defeat against Mount Aloysius. It was Mount Aloysius who scored first in game three going up 1-0 at 3:15.

Fernandez set up Fest goals at 1:45 and 1:26 to take Carlow up 2-1. Fest completed his hat trick on an unassisted goal with 48 seconds remaining putting the Celtics up 3-1.

Game 4

The Mounties came out hot to start and were able to slip one in just 31 seconds into the game taking Mount Aloysius up 1-0 with 4:29 to play.

There was a lot of back-and-forth action through the next two minutes, but an unassisted Fest goal drew Carlow even at 2:15 with the score 1-1.

Mount Aloysius answered with a goal of its own to take the lead with a score of 2-1 and 1:27 remaining.

The Mounties were able to hang on and close out game four by a score of 2-1.
