Rocket League Purple defeated in match against Penn West Edinboro

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University Rocket League Purple lost 3-0 to Penn West Edinboro Friday night.

Game 1

It was the Fighting Scots (3-1) who broke the scoreless tie in game one at 3:22.

Edinboro dealt some heavy hitting in front of the net and added an aerial goal at 2:53 to go up 2-0 as a result.

The Fighting Scots found the back of the net again at 2:20 to go up 3-0 which was the final score in game one.

Game 2

AJ Nguyen and Elizabeth Knight combined for a quick two shot combo at the beginning of game two, but Edinboro was able to defend and score on the counter at 4:32.

The Fighting Scots scored their second goal of the game at 3:19 after drawing the Carlow (1-2) defense away from net.

Edinboro was able to knock in two quick goals at 2:19 and 2:13 to extend their lead to 4-0.

Knight and Alena Hemminger pulled off great saves at 1:34 and 1:22, but Edinboro was able to hang on to win game two 4-0.

Game 3

Game three opened with some intense plays at both ends of the pitch. Ultimately, it was the Fighting Scots who scored first at 3:59 to take the lead 1-0.

Some tiki-taka passing produced the second goal of the game at 2:47 and took the Fighting Scots up 2-0.

There was one more flurry of offensive activity for Edinboro as they scored two more goals at 1:35 and 1:25 to make it a 4-0 final score in the third game, sweeping the match three games to none.
