Carlow Rocket League Gold defeats Marywood University

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University Rocket League Gold defeated Marywood University, 3-2, Thursday night.

Game One

Carlow came out strong in game one featuring solid all-around game play. Zachary Taylor (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park HS) led the way with two goals and Angelo Fernandez (Williamsport, Pa./St. John Neumann Regional Academy) added another.

Game Two

The teams traded goals midway through and were locked in a draw until regulation ran out. Marywood was able to win the overtime thriller three minutes into extra time to take game two.

Game Three

Game three was scoreless for the first 4:42. Brady Fest (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood HS) broke through with just eight seconds remaining in the game to secure Carlow's victory in game three.

Game Four

Game four opened with a quick goal for each team. Marywood broke ahead 2-1 with a late goal and was able to hang on and take game four.

Game Five

Game five saw Carlow pull out the victory after another closely contested match. Carlow got out to a 3-1 lead and was able to ride out the clock securing victory in game five, and the match, by a score of 3-2. Each player scored once in the final game of the match.
