Carlow Rocket League Purple swept by Waynesburg

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University Rocket League Purple lost, 3-0, to Waynesburg University in the final match of the night Thursday.

Game One

Alena Hemminger (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex HS) subbed in for Connor Gottschall for Carlow in the match. Carlow lost game one against the Waynesburg University Black Yellow Jackets, 2-0. Carlow played a balanced team game but could not find the back of the net.

Game Two

It took about a minute and a half for the first goal of the game by Waynesburg. Hemminger equalized on a pass from AJ Nguyen (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway HS) to tie the game, 1-1. Waynesburg then pulled ahead 2-1 for the win.

Game Three

Like game two, game three was a low scoring back-and-forth affair. The game remained deadlocked until Waynesburg scored with a little over a minute remaining. Carlow could not penetrate the defense and dropped game three by a score of 1-0.
