Men's Basketball falls to Saint Vincent in nonconference road match

The Bearcats improved to 3-0 after a 69-56 victory over the Celtics (1-5).

Nehemiah Brazil led the Celtics with 17 points, and three different Carlow players scored nine points apiece.

Riley Comforti picked up three steals and four assists, while Byron Gaskins went 4 for 5 from the foul line and tallied four steals.

The Bearcats held a marginal advantage over the Celtics through most of the first half before going on a 12-0 run to push that lead to 14.

Several free throws during the final minute put Carlow within nine points of the Bearcats before intermission.

Carlow warmed up in the second half, going on a 17-7 run to come within two points of tying the game, but Saint Vincent put together a late 13-2 run to secure the win.

Foul trouble plagued the Celtics, sending the Bearcats to the line where they converted 73.1 percent (19 for 26) on the night.

Saint Vincent out-rebounded Carlow, 42-30.

The Celtics forced 20 Bearcats turnovers and scored 26 points off the bench to Saint Vincent's six.

Jaden Gales led all scorers with 22 points and Shemar Bennett had a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards.

The Celtics travel to WVU Tech to kick off River States Conference play Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
