NCAA DII Walsh overpowers Men's Basketball

NORTH CANTON, Ohio --- Carlow University men's basketball fell to NCAA DII Walsh University on the road Wednesday.

The Cavaliers (3-2) defeated the Celtics (1-9), 115-44.

The Walsh defense held Carlow athletes to single-digit scoring throughout the game.

Tim Smith, Jr. led all scorers with 24 points and 10 rebounds, and five other Cavaliers recorded double-digit points in the win.

The Cavaliers went on a 22-2 run to end the first half with a 36-point advantage.

Walsh drained 20 treys and shot 52.4 percent (43 for 82) from the field on the day.

The Cavaliers out-rebounded the Celtics, 45-30, and scored 45 points off 30 Carlow turnovers.

The Celtics out-blocked the Cavaliers, 5-0, but Walsh scored 41 points off the bench to Carlow's 22.

Carlow returns to action Nov. 29 when they host Ohio Christian University for an 8 p.m. game at Donahue Pavilion.
