Men's Basketball comes up short against La Roche in nonconference action

The teams traded leads through the first five minutes of action before a trey from Nehemiah Brazil set off a 13-2 run that gave the Celtics (1-11) the advantage.

Similarly, a three-pointer sparked a 16-0 run for the Redhawks (3-5) with under seven minutes remaining in the half, resulting in a 29-23 lead at halftime.

La Roche scored six of its 10 three-pointers and forced 10 Carlow turnovers in the second half.

The Celtics came within one point of tying the game several times throughout the half but could not gain any traction.

Riley Comforti scored almost half of the Celtics' points, leading all scorers with 23 and racking a double-double with 15 rebounds. He also dished out three assists.

Brevan Williams scored 11 points off the bench, while Brazil added three steals and three assists.

Four different Redhawks recorded double-digits in the win.

The Celtics held a narrow 43-40 margin in rebounds, while La Roche scored 22 points off 18 Carlow turnovers on the night.

The Celtics host Point Park University for a River States Conference game Saturday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m.
