Men's Basketball runs into foul trouble in conference road game at Indiana Kokomo

KOKOMO, Ind. --- Carlow University men's basketball lost a 98-50 River States Conference contest to Indiana University Kokomo on the road Thursday.

KOKOMO, Ind. --- Carlow University men's basketball lost a 98-50 River States Conference contest to Indiana University Kokomo on the road Thursday.

Indiana Kokomo extended its win streak to five games, improving to 16-5 overall and 10-1 in conference action with last night's victory over the Celtics (1-21, 0-11 RSC).

Byron Gaskins led the team with 12 points.

Nehemiah Brazil added 10 points and three assists, while Gaskins and Brevan Williams combined for four of Carlow's five treys on the night.

The Cougars jumped out to an early lead and would not allow the Celtics to catch up at any point during the game.

Indiana Kokomo led, 46-27, at halftime and went on a 16-2 run in the second half to push its advantage to 30 points. Half of the points during that run were scored at the foul line.

The Cougars' defense held Carlow to just five points through the final five minutes of regulation.

Xavier Hines led all players with 18 points, while three different Cougars recorded double-figures off the bench.

Indiana Kokomo shot 75 percent from the foul line where they scored 27 points on the night.

The Cougars prevented Carlow from scoring any second-chance points and out-rebounded the Celtics, 49-38.

Indiana Kokomo scored 59 points off the bench to Carlow's 18.

Men's basketball concludes its conference road trip with a stop at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind. Saturday for a 3 p.m. RSC game.
