Turnovers trouble in Men's Basketball loss to Alice Lloyd College

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's basketball lost a 90-53 River States Conference contest to Alice Lloyd (Ky.) College at Donahue Pavilion Thursday.

The Eagles (12-11, 6-7 RSC) scored 26 points off 29 Carlow turnovers and drained 12 three-pointers in the win over the Celtics (1-23, 0-13 RSC).

Alice Lloyd started off strong with an 18-0 run early on that included four treys.

The Eagles maintained a 20-point lead through the half, with the Celtics trailing by 21 at halftime.

Carlow started the second half strong, but back-to-back three-pointers by Bryce Slone set off an over six-minute long, 24-4 run that put the game out of reach for the Celtics.

Brevan Williams led the Celtics with 20 points and nine rebounds on the night.

Nehemiah Brazil contributed four assists in the effort.

Slone sank seven treys to lead all scorers with 25 points. Two other Alice Lloyd players recorded double figures off the bench.

Alice Lloyd scored 53 points off the bench to Carlow's 18 and held a narrow 46-44 advantage in rebounds.

The Celtics scored almost twice as many second-chance points as the Eagles, but sent Alice Lloyd to the foul line more often where they shot 69.6 percent (16 for 23) on the evening.

Carlow tallied five blocks on the defensive side of the ball.

The Celtics face WVU Tech Saturday, Feb. 4 at 3 p.m. Prior to tip-off, Carlow will celebrate seniors David Clary and Hunter DeStefano.
