Men's Basketball defeated by Point Park in RSC City Game

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's basketball lost a 97-49 River States Conference contest to Point Park University at CCAC-Allegheny Saturday.

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's basketball lost a 97-49 River States Conference contest to Point Park University at CCAC-Allegheny Saturday.

The Pioneers (21-6, 12-4 RSC) scored over twice as many points as the Celtics (1-26, 0-16 RSC) in the first half.

Carlow put together a 10-4 run to get within 10 points of the Pioneers midway through the first half, but Point Park ended the half on a 24-6 run of its own to lead, 50-22, at intermission.

Point Park steadily piled on the points throughout the second half, leading by as much as 50 points toward the end of regulation.

Nehemiah Brazil led Carlow with 18 points and two steals.

Isaiah Stein tallied both of Carlow's blocks on the day.

The Pioneers scored 18 second-chance points to Carlow's six and out-rebounded the Celtics, 69-30.

Point Park scored 44 points off the bench to the Celtics' 16 but committed twice as many fouls as Carlow.

The Celtics forced 16 Point Park turnovers on the day that resulted in 11 points.

Jalen Stamps led Point Park with 18 points, while three different Pioneers recorded double-doubles on the day.

The Celtics conclude the regular season at the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) Feb. 18 at 3 p.m.
