Two Men’s Basketball athletes named USCAA All-Americans, five earn All-Academic honors

USCAA RELEASE

PITTSBURGH --- Two Carlow University men's basketball athletes were named USCAA All-Americans, and five earned All-Academic honors the league announced during the Small College National Championship at the Virginia State Multipurpose Center March 9.

Byron Gaskins and Riley Comforti each earned All-American honors.

Gaskins was named a Second Team All-American after leading the Celtics all season and ranked eighth in the USCAA with an average 17.3 points per game.

He also led the team with an average two steals per game and was second on the team with an average 2.6 assists and five rebounds per game.

Comforti was named an Honorable Mention All-American after leading the team and ranked eighth in the USCAA with an average 8.2 rebounds per game. He also led the Celtics with an average 2.8 assists and was second on the team with an average 1.8 steals per game.

The Celtics saw the most student-athletes named to the Men's Basketball Division I All-Academic list with five total. To be named to the All-Academic team, student-athletes must be sophomores or above with at least a 3.5 overall GPA or higher.
