Men’s Golf ekes out win over Waynesburg to tee off spring season

MCKEESPORT, Pa. --- Carlow University men's golf opened its spring season with a close 362-364 win over Waynesburg University at Youghiogheny Country Club Saturday afternoon.

Logan Smith and Waynesburg's Matthew Karpeal led all golfers with a 78 on the par-72 course.

Justin Clevenger carded a 90 for the Yellow Jackets, while Zach Jubeck and Ryley Stephenson each scored a 94 to tie for third overall.

Christian Rotundo and Nate Barnhardt each carded a 96, and CJ Lucas scored a 126.

Head Coach Ryan Shank said the team managed the tough conditions well to land the win.

The Celtics return to action with a dual against Geneva College March 28.
