Men’s Golf battles on first day of Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic

The Celtics scored 364 as a team in the first round against 19 other colleges and universities in the two-day tournament.
Junior Logan Smith (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley HS) led Carlow with an 82, hitting par six times and birdying two holes in a row on the back nine.
Brady Donovan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood HS) made par five times and birdied on the final hole to card a 91, and Christian Rotundo (Thorold, Ontario, Canada/Denis Morris Catholic Secondary School) scored a 94 with five on par.
Zach Jubeck (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny HS) birdied twice on the front nine with four birdies on the 6,852-yard course to score a 97.
Heidelberg University led all teams with a score of 303, and Peyton Mussina of Penn College shot four-under to land atop the individual standings.
The Celtics return for the second day of the tournament at Summit Country Club in Cresson, Pa. Saturday.
