Men’s Golf concludes Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic
CRESSON, Pa. --- Carlow University men's golf concluded the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic with a team score of 354 at Summit Country Club Saturday.
The Celtics shot 10 strokes better as a team on the second day of the tournament.
Logan Smith (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley HS) led Carlow with an 85 and was the only Celtic to land a birdie on the day.
Christian Rotundo (Thorold, Ontario, Canada/Denis Morris Catholic Secondary School) hit par on seven holes to card an 88, and Zach Jubeck (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny HS) scored 90 on the 6,748-yard course. Rotundo shaved six shots off his game and Jubeck seven compared to the first round of the tournament.
Farmingdale State College claimed the team title with a score of 601 over the two-day tournament. Peyton Mussina of Penn College secured first place and was the only golfer to shoot under par over both days, ending the tournament with a score of 135.
The Celtics travel to the Region V Showcase at Manakiki Golf Club Sept. 21 and 22.
