PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's soccer lost a 2-0 contest to Penn State New Kensington at Highmark Stadium Tuesday.

An otherwise evenly matched game in the book fell in favor of the visiting Nittany Lions (1-2), who scored both goals in the first half just one minute apart in the 13th and 14th minutes off the boot of Jordan Cooper.

The Celtics (0-2) posted 11 shots in the first half but just one ended up on target.

Mason Kovach made a clutch defensive save in 27th minute off a corner kick to keep Carlow in the game.

The defense held the Nittany Lions scoreless the remainder of the game, but the Celtics couldn't get a shot to fall in the second half.

Andrew Bochicchio had a great look with a minute left in regulation, but it hit the Penn State New Kensington keeper square in the chest.

Sudesh Tiwari led the Celtics with six shots (one on goal), and worked to create opportunities for the rest of the team to score. Launthar Eh put two shots on goal for Carlow, and goalkeeper Kevin Garcia made nine stops in the complete game effort.

Penn State New Kensington out-shot Carlow 24-21 (12-6 on goal) and held an 8-5 corner kick advantage.

The Celtics travel to Penn State Brandywine for a tournament Saturday and Sunday.
