MEDIA, Pa. --- Carlow University men's soccer lost, 2-0, to Penn State Brandywine on the road Saturday.

The match kicked off a weekend tournament that includes Salem University and Bryant & Stratton Albany.

Despite holding the Nittany Lions (2-0) scoreless through 58 minutes, it was Brandywine who came out on top.

The Nittany Lions out-shot the Celtics, 10-1, in the first half, but the score remained deadlocked at zero heading into intermission.

Kevin Garcia picked up seven of his 10 saves in the first half alone but was saddled with the loss in the complete game effort.

Brandywine's defense prevented the Celtics (0-3) from seeing many scoring opportunities, with Carlow notching three of its four shots on goal in the second half. Four different Celtics put shots on in the effort.

Chris Manful scored Brandywine's first goal in the 58th minute, then assisted on the second goal by Zack Bardwell at 64'.

The Nittany Lions out-shot Carlow, 22-5, and held an 8-1 corner kick advantage.

The Celtics will face the loser of the Salem vs. Bryant & Stratton Albany game at noon Sunday.
