Ramson hat trick pushes Men's Soccer to victory over Penn State Mont Alto

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's soccer senior Janvier Ramson scored his fourth hat trick of the season to lead the team to a 3-2 victory over Penn State Mont Alto Monday night at Highmark Stadium.

The Celtics (3-13-1) jumped out to an early lead behind two goals from Ramson at 14' and 21'. James Stone assisted on both goals to give Carlow a 2-0 advantage over the Lions (5-10-2).

Mont Alto cut the lead in half when Alex Call scored off a rebound in the 35th minute.

The Celtics would maintain their marginal 2-1 lead into halftime.

The Lions tied the score, 2-2, in the 67th minute off another goal scored off a rebound in the box.

It looked like the Celtics might have to settle for a tie, but Ramson came through with his third goal later in the half.

Ian Wohlfarth put a nice ball ahead for Ramson, who took his defender one-on-one and sent the ball across into the opposite side of the net to give Carlow the 3-2 lead at 79'.

Carlow out-shot Mont Alto, 23-11 (10-5 on goal) and held a 7-3 corner kick advantage.

Kevin Garcia got the win in net after making three saves in the complete game effort.

The Celtics travel to Oakland City (Ind.) University for the final regular season game Oct. 29 at 2:30 p.m.
