PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's soccer lost a 3-0 contest to Penn State New Kensington at Highmark Stadium Tuesday afternoon.
Ethan Krystek scored a brace for the Lions (3-5-1) within the span of four minutes in the second half to secure the victory.
New Kensington's first goal was an own goal that rebounded off a Carlow player and into the net at 29'. The Celtics (2-5) held the Lions at bay for the next 43 minutes until Krystek scored his first goal in the 72nd minute.
New Kensington outshot Carlow 18-8 and 8-2 on goal, as Nico Bel (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Florida SouthWestern State College) and Eric Fowler (Torrington, Conn./Wamogo Regional HS/Roger Williams University) saw the best looks for the Celtics on the afternoon.
Goalkeeper Alex Remington (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park HS) suffered the loss after stopping four shots in the complete game effort. Each team tallied four corner kicks on the day.
The Celtics host Hilbert College for a 10 a.m. match to open Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action at Highmark Stadium Saturday.
