Indoor Track & Field set to compete at River States Conference Championship Saturday

LOGAN, Ohio -- The 2023 River States Conference Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place on Saturday, Feb. 18 from the Chieftain Center in Logan, Ohio.

LOGAN, Ohio -- The 2023 River States Conference Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place on Saturday, Feb. 18 from the Chieftain Center in Logan, Ohio.

Doors open at 9:00 a.m. for fans and admission is $5 for all. The championships begin with the field events starting at 9:30 a.m., while the running events on the track begin at 12:00 p.m.

The Chieftain Center is located at 14637 Ohio-328, Logan, Ohio 43138.

The men's and women's teams with the most points at the end of the meet will be crowned RSC champions. The top eight placements in each event will score points for their teams as follows: 10 points for 1st place, eight points for 2nd place, six points for 3rd place, five points for 4th place, four points for 5th place, three points for 6th place, two points for 7th place and one point for 8th place. Each school may enter up to four entries in each event, and all four may score points.

The top three finishers in each event and relay will earn All-River States Conference honors with gold, silver and bronze medals awarded after each event. There will be an awards ceremony at the conclusion of the meet at approximately 8:30 p.m. Awards will be presented for the team champions and runners up, as well as individual awards for men's and women's indoor track and field athletes of the year, newcomers of the year, coaches of the year and the RSC Champions of Character Teams.

The Chieftain Center is an 86,000 square foot, multi-purpose indoor facility. The facility was opened in February 2020 and is on the campus of Logan High School. The track surface is 200 meters with six lanes on the oval and eight lanes on the sprint straightaway.
