Men’s Track & Field lands four top-10 spots at United East Indoor Championship

LANDOVER, Md. --- Carlow University men's track & field landed four top-10 spots at the United East Indoor Championship at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex Monday.

The meet afforded the top 16 spots in each event to athletes who met the qualifying standards.

Bryan Pan was two-tenths of a second from tying his own school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a fourth place finish of 9.38. He ran a personal best 7.29 in the 60-meter dash preliminaries and placed 11th in the 200.

Shajit Pokwal scored points for the Celtics with a fourth place leap of 6.07 meters in long jump and landed in sixth place in triple jump (11.82 meters).

Gavin Moore contributed points to the overall team score of 15 with a seventh place triple jump of 11.81 meters.

Penn State Behrend claimed the overall title, winning nine gold medals and scoring 216.5 total points, and Head Coach Greg Cooper was named the Coach of the Year.

All-Conference honors were doled out to the top-three finishers of each event.

  • Track Athlete of the Year – Eric Gregory (Gallaudet)
  • Field Athlete of the Year – Alex Cotton (Penn State Behrend)
