Men’s Track & Field places fourth at Marietta First Glimpse

MARIETTA, Ohio --- Carlow University men's track & field placed fourth of seven teams to open the 2024-25 indoor season at the Marietta College First Glimpse meet Saturday.

First year athlete Caleb Rogers (Clark, Pa./Sharpsville Area HS) broke the school indoor record in shot put – previously set at 9.37 meters by Ryan Fenstermaker on Feb. 11, 2023 – with a sixth place throw of 10.13 meters. Rogers also set the school record for indoor weight throw as it is the first time someone has competed in the event in school history.

Every athlete on the team placed in the top 10 in their respective events on the day. Shajit Pokwal (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) landed a second-place finish in triple jump with a distance of 12.78 meters.

Marietta College scored 150 to earn the first place team title.

The Celtics return to action following the holiday break with a Jan. 25 meet at Muskingum University.
