Fenstermaker breaks outdoor track & field school records at CMU

RESULTS

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University freshman Ryan Fenstermaker broke two outdoor track & field school records at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational Saturday.

Fenstermaker beat pervious school records set by Zachary Byczynski in shot put and discus.

Fenstermaker's throw of 9.64 meters in shot put beat Byczynski's toss of 9.17 from the 2018 River States Conference Outdoor Championship.

Fenstermaker's discus throw landed at 27.96 meters, besting Byczynski's 2019 throw of 26.63.

Several other Celtics recorded top-10 finishes to place Carlow 11th of 14 teams on the day.

Tyhir Royster finished second in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

The 4x400 relay team of Royster, Shajit Pokwal, Nate Thomas and Bryan Pan placed ninth, while Pokwal and Thomas placed ninth and 10th respectively in long jump.

Pokwal finished eighth in triple jump, and Thomas recorded a personal best time in the 400-meter hurdles.

The Celtics travel to the Slippery Rock University Dave Labor Invitational April 1.
