Fenstermaker, Pokwal break outdoor track & field school records at Dave Labor Invitational

RESULTS

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. --- Despite inclement weather, newcomers Ryan Fenstermaker and Shajit Pokwal conquered the elements to break outdoor track & field school records at the Slippery Rock University Dave Labor Invitational Saturday.

Wind gusts of over 60 mph damaged parts of the stadium and swept jump pits away, causing a severe weather delay in the middle of the 28-team meet.

Pokwal's triple jump of 12.84 meters landed him in seventh place and beat Javondii Myers' 11.97-meter outdoor school record set in 2019.

Fenstermaker bested his own school record of 27.96 meters in discus with a toss of 28.54 meters.

Tyhir Royster recorded a top-10 finish in the 100-meter dash, placing ninth with a time of 10.96 seconds.

Carlow travels to a mid-week meet hosted by Robert Morris (Pa.) University April 5.
