Men’s Track & Field places eighth at River States Conference Outdoor Championship

RIO GRANDE, Ohio --- Carlow University men's track & field placed eighth of 11 teams at the River States Conference Outdoor Championship April 28-29, hosted by the University of Rio Grande.

Tyhir Royster and the 4x100 relay team that included Bryan Pan, Quay Canton, Shajit Pokwal and Royster led the way with two second place finishes on the day.

Royster ran 21.95 to win second place in the 200-meter dash. He also earned points for the Celtics after finishing fourth in the 100 with a time of 11.07.

The top three finishers in each event earned all-conference honors, while the top eight finishers scored points for their team.

Royster was also the anchor of the 4x100 relay team that brought home second place in the event with a 42.90 finish. It was the first time the team had run the event in program history.

Bryan Pan placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.70 to score points for the Celtics.

Jeb Jordan, Nate Thomas, Canton and Pan also scored personal best marks in some of their respective events on the day.

Ryan Fenstermaker was named the team's Champions of Character representative. The award honors one member of each team who best displays the NAIA five character traits of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship. 

Pan and Royster were named to the RSC Scholar-Athlete Team, which recognizes outstanding students with a cumulative 3.25 GPA or higher who have been at their current school for more than two semesters.
