Men’s Track & Field earns first USCAA Player of the Week honors
PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men’s track & field earned its first two United States Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week honors, the association announced Tuesday.
PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's track & field earned its first two United States Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week honors, the association announced Tuesday.
Mel Cobbler (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein HS/Morgan State University) and Jordan Cannon (Cleveland, Ohio/Lutheran East/West Virginia Wesleyan) earned Runner and Jumper of the Week honors, respectively.
The Celtics competed at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational March 28 and 29.
Cobbler led the Celtics with personal best times in two hurdling events. His time of 18.21 placed him 26th in the 110-meter hurdles and landed him fourth in the Carlow record books. Cobbler also landed a fourth-best Carlow record time in the 400-meter hurdles with a 21st place finish of 1:01.44.
In the first track event of his collegiate career, Cannon leapt 1.74 meters in high jump.
Carlow competes at the Slippery Rock University Dave Labor Invitational April 5.
