PITTSBURGH --- After four years as the head coach of the Carlow University men's volleyball program, Val Pennington decided to step down.
Pennington was the inaugural head coach of the program, which began in 2020-21 as 14th team at Carlow and the seventh athletics team added since 2014.
"Carlow University and the Department of Athletics want to thank Coach Pennington for his time and commitment to the men's volleyball program," said Director of Athletics Lou Zadecky. "We wish him nothing but the best moving forward."
The Celtics played 11 games during the inaugural 2021 season and continued as an NAIA independent team until Carlow made its transition to the NCAA Division III and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference in 2023.
The department plans to conduct a head coach search soon, and all questions should be directed to Zadecky at 412-578-8826 or lvzadecky@carlow.edu.
