Men’s Volleyball concludes regular season with home match against Hilbert

The Celtics ended the season 0-20 and 0-6 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action. Hilbert (10-12, 3-3 AMCC) swept Carlow 25-11, 25-6 and 25-10.
Angelo Fernandez (Williamsport, Pa./St. John Neumann Regional Academy) recorded his first service ace of the season in the first set and picked up a solo block – also his first of the season – to break up a run for the Hawks in the second set.
Jaden Michalski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Obama Academy) led Carlow with three kills, and Caio Matos Machado (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Bishop Guilfoyle HS) picked up Carlow's other solo block on the day. Fernandez recorded five digs in the effort.
The Hawks jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the first set, affording those three points to the Celtics on service errors enroute to a 25-11 victory.
Hilbert made quick work of Carlow in the second set, ahead 12-1 before the Celtics called a timeout and the Hawks returned to the court with a service error. Hilbert ran away with the set, 25-6.
Carlow led 3-1 in the third set before Hilbert scored seven unanswered points to gain the advantage. A Hawks service error and a service ace by Machado saw Carlow trailing by three before Hilbert launched another 7-0 run, ending the set and the game later, 25-10.
Tyler Hassell led the Hawks with a game-high 10 kills and five aces. Brad Converse picked up five digs in the win. Hilbert hit .322 on the day and tallied 18 service aces.
