Men’s Cross Country places 11th at Carnegie Mellon Invitational

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's cross country placed 11th of 14 teams at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational Saturday morning.

The Celtics tackled several hills along the 8k Schenley Park course, matching up against 90 runners from NCAA DI, II, III and NAIA schools.

Newcomer Quincy Fana led the team and improved his 8k time by over a second with a 35:25.1 finish.   

Byron Gaskins crossed the finish line in 43:00.2, and Isaiah Stein recorded a 43:01.4 finish.

Oscar Contreras and Gavin McLain landed at 43:11.7 and 44:00.9 respectively.

Host Carnegie Mellon took the team honors with a score of 41, and CMU alumnus Michael Obroin led the pack with a 25:14.2 finish.

The Celtics travel to the La Roche Invitational Oct. 20.
