Slow second quarter against Bryant & Stratton Buffalo stalls Women's Basketball

BUFFALO, N.Y. --- Carlow University women's basketball lost, 74-59, to host Bryant & Stratton College Buffalo at the Buffalo State Sports Arena Saturday afternoon on the second day of the Bobcat Bash tournament.

The Bobcats improved to 4-0 with the win while the Celtics dropped to 3-2 on the season.

Emiley Hillgartner led all scorers with 18 points and dished out three assists.

Sydney Carr recorded another double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. She tallied five assists and picked up three steals on the day.

The teams traded leads through the first quarter and ended up tied 17-all, but Carlow struggled in the second quarter.

The Bobcats went on a 13-0 run to start the quarter and held the Celtics to just nine points while scoring 23 of their own to lead by 14 at the half.

The Bobcats pushed their lead to 25 at one point in the game. Despite a brief rally in the fourth quarter, the Celtics were unable to recover from the deficit.

Carlow scored 18 points off 20 Bobcats' turnovers.

Bryant & Stratton scored 37 points off the bench to the Celtics' 12 and out-rebounded Carlow, 52-42.

Four different Bobcats recorded double-digit points in the win.

The Celtics travel to WVU Tech to kick off River States Conference play Nov. 17 at 5:30 p.m.
