Women’s Basketball downed by undefeated Penn State Behrend

The Lions (11-5) remain unbeaten in conference play with the win over the Celtics (7-7, 5-2 AMCC).
Penn State Behrend held Carlow to single digit scoring in the first and fourth quarters and shot 53.9 percent (41 for 76) from the field on the day.
Sydney Carr (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) sank four of Carlow's six treys to lead the team with 18 points, four steals and an assist. Nina Cano (Greenville, Pa./Greenville HS/Grove City College) added 11 points, and Shaelyn Clark (Kittanning, Pa./Armstrong HS) picked up four steals in the effort.
The Lions held Carlow to just six points in the first quarter to secure an 18-point lead. The Celtics outscored Penn State Behrend 20-19 in the second quarter to trail by 17 heading into halftime.
The Lions went on an 18-5 run to start the second half, gaining a 30-point advantage midway through the third quarter, and Penn State Behrend held the Celtics to just eight points in the fourth quarter for the commanding win.
The Lions outrebounded Carlow 46-31 and forced 21 turnovers in the game. Penn State Behrend outscored the Celtics 50-16 in the paint and 24-9 off the bench.
Rachel Majewski led the Lions with a game-high 23 points. Morgan Altavilla and Madilyn Boyer added 21 and 20 points, respectively. Altavilla and Boyer combined for seven of Penn State Behrend's nine three-pointers on the day.
