Women’s Basketball earns decisive win over Pitt Greensburg in AMCC road game
GREENSBURG, Pa. --- Carlow University women’s basketball held Pitt Greensburg to single digit scoring in two quarters enroute to a decisive 82-36 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory on the road Wednesday night.

The Celtics (9-8, 7-3 AMCC) defeated the Bobcats (3-18, 1-11 AMCC) 82-60 at home on Dec. 18 and locked in on defense to keep the game well out of reach this time around.
Sydney Carr (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) led the Celtics with a double-double, game-high 20 points and 15 rebounds. She dished out four assists and picked up four steals. Nina Cano (Greenville, Pa./Greenville HS/Grove City College) added a double-double of her own with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Emiley Hillgartner (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) contributed 19 points and five assists. Gia Rosensteel (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem HS) tallied 13 points off the bench.
Pitt Greensburg kept it close throughout the first quarter, trailing by four points before a last-second three-pointer from Hillgartner gave Carlow a 20-13 advantage heading into the second.
The Celtics stopped the Bobcats cold in the second quarter, limiting Pitt Greensburg to just four points and piling on 24 to take a commanding 44-17 lead into halftime.
Carlow kept out front in the third, and once again held the Bobcats to single digits in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Carlow outrebounded Pitt Greensburg 62-35 and outscored the Bobcats 34-8 in the paint and 19-6 off the bench. The Celtics scored 10 points off 16 Pitt Greensburg turnovers on the night.
Jocelyn Bielak led the Bobcats with a double-double 14 points and 10 rebounds. Trinity Lockwood-Morris dished out four assists in the effort.
The Celtics host Pitt Bradford for a 4 p.m. AMCC game Feb. 8.
