First place finish for Women’s Golf at Franciscan University Fall Invitational

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio --- Carlow University women's golf took home first place at the Franciscan University Fall Invitational Saturday.

The Celtics shot 395 to place first of three teams at the par-72 Steubenville Country Club.

Six of Carlow's eight golfers individually scored in the top-10 on the day.

Emilee Miller earned another medalist spot, placing first of 18 golfers with a 90.

Ave Grew and Maci Lorigan carded 99 and 101 respectively to place second and third, while Bella Spahr, Lilli Hope and Jena Norman took fifth, sixth and ninth respectively.

"The course was very difficult, but we saw a lot of good shots throughout the day," Head Coach Ryan Shank said. "I am so proud of how the athletes represented Carlow."

The Celtics travel to the Westminster Fall Invitational Oct. 6.
