Lorigan, Miller pace Women’s Golf at USCAA Championship
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. --- Carlow University women's golf concluded the opening round of the 2023 USCAA Championship at the par-72 Penn State University Blue Course Monday.
Teammates Emilee Miller and Maci Lorigan tied for second after they each carded 84 on the cold, blustery day.
Lorigan led the 12-woman field with 10 holes at par, including hitting six on the front nine.
Miller hit five par on the front nine and birdied the 18th to end the day.
Bella Spahr hit three par to score a 97, while Ava Grew and Jena Norman shot 106 and 114 respectively.
Johnson & Wales Charlotte golfer Maria Jackson currently leads the pack with a 6-over-par.
The Celtics are up early for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start for the second round of the tournament tomorrow morning.
