Women’s Golf opens spring season with win over Franciscan

MCKEESPORT, Pa. --- Carlow University women's golf teed off the spring season with a 396-534 win over Franciscan University at Youghiogheny Country Club Saturday afternoon.

Emilee Miller and Ava Grew led the Celtics and the field with a 94 each on the par-72 course.

Maci Lorigan and Franciscan's Molly McLean each carded a 96, and Jena Norman rounded out the team score for the Celtics with a 112.

Emma Shuttleworth also carded a 112 on the day, and Kennedy Gunn scored 123.

Despite less than ideal conditions, Head Coach Ryan Shank was impressed with the team's performance in its first spring dual.

Carlow returns to action with a dual against Geneva College March 28.
