Women’s Golf places second at Grove City Spring Invitational

GROVE CITY, Pa. --- Carlow University women's golf battled through less-than-ideal conditions to secure second place at the Grove City College Spring Invitational Saturday.

It was a repeat performance for the Celtics, who placed second of 11 teams in the fall invitational at Grove City Sept. 28, where they shot a 383.

Today, Carlow secured its second-place spot with a team score of 385, led by Ava Grew who shot a 95 to place 12th of 45 golfers in the match.

Emilee Miller and Bella Spahr each shot 96 to tie for 13th, and Maci Lorigan carded a 98 to place 16th and round out the team score for the Celtics.

Lilli Hope shot a 102, and Jena Norman scored 109 as an individual on the par 72 course.

Emma Shuttleworth and Kennedy Gunn also played as individuals, tallying scores of 117 and 121, respectively.

Westminster College took home first place with a team score of 336, led by first place finisher Katie Rose Rankin who shot a 78 on the day.

Carlow returns to action with the Westminster College Invitational at Avalon Field Club April 13.
