Women’s Golfers place first, second at USCAA Championship

Emilee Miller (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler Area HS) carded an 81 on both days of the USCAA Championship to place first of 13 individuals and earn the national championship title.
Miller was tied for first place with teammate Maci Lorigan (Kittanning, Pa./Armstrong HS) and Meadow Ciccarella from Johnson & Wales Charlotte after the first round of the tournament Monday but pulled away through the back nine of the second round.
Lorigan came in second place with a two-day score of 166 (81-85), and Ciccarella ended up third after carding a 168 (81-87).
Ava Grew (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area HS) improved her first round score by 15 strokes (102-87) to place ninth overall, and Jena Norman (McCandless, Pa./North Allegheny Senior HS) scored the same on both days (102-102) to finish in 11th place.
