Women’s Golf places ninth at Grove City Invitational

GROVE CITY, Pa. --- Carlow University women’s golf played its first round of spring at the Grove City Invitational at Grove City Country Club Thursday.

GROVE CITY, Pa. --- Carlow University women's golf played its first round of spring at the Grove City Invitational at Grove City Country Club Thursday.

The Celtics competed through inclement weather to place ninth out of 11 teams on the day with a score of 401.

Ava Grew (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area HS) led Carlow with a birdie and two par to card a 96, and Maci Lorigan (Kittanning, Pa./Armstrong HS) was close behind with a 97. Lilli Hope (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin HS) carded a 100 with two pars, and Jena Norman (McCandless, Pa./North Allegheny Senior HS) rounded out scoring for the Celtics with a 108.

Westminster College won team title with a score of 332, and Madison Sharek of Geneva College took home first place individually with a score of 78.

Carlow's final spring match is a dual against Waynesburg University April 12 at Youghiogheny Country Club.
