Women’s Soccer shut out by Fifth Ave. foe Chatham

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's soccer lost a 2-0 nonconference match to Chatham University at UPMC Graham Field Monday night.

The Celtics (0-3-1) held the Cougars (1-2-1) scoreless through the second half, but Carlow was unable to make a comeback after Chatham scored two goals in the first.

The Cougars landed both goals early on in the game at 18' and 25', but the Celtics held Chatham scoreless the remainder of the game.

Kylee Pry got her first start in net for the Celtics in her first game since the truncated 2020-21 season, making six stops in the complete game effort.

The Cougars out-shot the Celtics 18-4 (8-3 on goal) and held an 8-1 corner kick advantage.

Arley Wilson put two shots on in the first half, but neither found the back of the net as Chatham's Hannah Ehrlich earned the clean sheet.

The Celtics have the remainder of the week off as the Central Penn game was canceled. Carlow's next match is a road trip to Penn State Mont Alto Sept. 18.
