MONT ALTO, Pa. --- Carlow University women's soccer settled for a 1-1 draw at Penn State Mont Alto Monday.
Both teams were looking for their first win of the season but neither could come up with the game-winning goal in regulation.
The Celtics (0-3-2) struck early with an unassisted goal from senior Harley Vincler in the 11th minute.
Carlow kept the Nittany Lions (0-2-1) from scoring almost the entire game until the very end. Both of Mont Alto's shots on goal came in the second half, and one found the back of the net in the 88th minute to tie the score.
Carlow out-shot the Nittany Lions, 10-7 (5-2 on goal), but Mont Alto held a 5-3 upper hand in corner kicks.
Kylee Pry made one stop as the net minder in 90 minutes of work.
The Celtics open Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play with a road trip to Hilbert (N.Y.) College Saturday, Sept. 23.
