PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's soccer lost a 4-1 contest to Waynesburg University at Highmark Stadium Tuesday night.
Harley Vincler (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park HS) scored Carlow's lone goal in the 73rd minute. Her long shot sailed over goalkeeper Emily Beck's head to cut Waynesburg's advantage to 3-1.
A foul in the box less than a minute later afforded the Jackets (3-1-1) a penalty kick by Sutton Clark to put Waynesburg up, 4-1, as time dwindled off the clock.
Elizabeth Knight (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) made a season-high 12 saves in the complete game effort.
Waynesburg outshot Carlow 30-7 (16-5 on goal) and held a 7-1 corner kick advantage.
Waynesburg's Waverly Lorne scored an unassisted goal at 10', and Demaree Livingston assisted on two goals at 12' and 51'.
The Celtics (0-4-1) return to action with a 3:30 p.m. game against Penn College at Cupples Stadium Sept. 21.
