CRESSON, Pa. --- Carlow University women's soccer could not recover from a first half deficit in a 4-2 AMCC lost to Mount Aloysius College Tuesday night.
Tianna Torles (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park HS/St. Vincent College) scored a goal at 66' to cut the Mounties' lead to 3-1 in the second half until Mount Aloysius extended its advantage to 4-1 just 10 minutes later.
Jenna McGuinness (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin HS/Seton Hill University) added an unassisted goal for Carlow at 89' that carved Mount Aloysius' lead in half, but the Celtics simply ran out of time.
Goalkeeper Elizabeth Knight (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) made eight stops in the complete game effort.
Mount Aloysius (2-7-1, 1-1 AMCC) outshot the Celtics 22-10 and held a 5-0 corner kick advantage.
Natalie Despot assisted Jordan Bailey on the Mounties' first two goals of the night to lead the team, and goalkeeper McKenna Meadows stopped all five shots on goal from the Celtics (2-6-1, 1-1 AMCC).
Carlow celebrates Senior Day Saturday, Oct. 5 with a match at 6:30 p.m.
