PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's soccer lost a 5-0 AMCC contest to La Roche University on the road Tuesday.
The Redhawks (3-9-1, 1-3-1 AMCC) placed just seven shots on goal the entire game to pick up their first conference win of the season over the Celtics (3-9-1, 2-3 AMCC).
La Roche broke the opening 20-minute stalemate with a goal at 22' and put another one in the back of the net 10 minutes later to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Carlow held the Redhawks at bay for 41 minutes before Grace Motuk landed her second unassisted goal of the match in the 72nd minute.
From there, La Roche added two more within the span of a minute at 81' and 82'.
Arley Wilson (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville Area HS) recorded three shots with two on goal, and Jenna McGuinness (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin HS/Seton Hill University) added one shot on goal in the effort.
The Redhawks outshot the Celtics 17-7 and held a 5-1 corner kick advantage.
The Celtics host Penn State Altoona for an 8 p.m. "Pink Out" game Oct. 23.
