League-leading Penn State Behrend blanks Women’s Soccer

ERIE, Pa. --- Carlow University women's soccer faced an 8-0 shutout at Penn State Behrend in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game Saturday afternoon.
Anna Gribik (Clarion, Pa./Clarion Area HS) recorded Carlow's lone shot on goal in the second half of the match, as the Lions (15-2, 7-0 AMCC) outshot the Celtics, 36-1 on the night and 22-1 on goal.
Elizabeth Knight (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) suffered the loss after making seven stops in the first half. Lyndsey Szekely (North Huntington, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) completed the second half in net and recorded seven saves.
Trinity Prestash led Behrend with two goals and two assists, while Audra Kuzma contributed two goals on the day.
The Lions landed their first goal just 1:40 into the match, tallying two more 24 seconds apart in the ninth minute. Behrend added another pair of back-to-back goals at 20' and 21' to take a 5-0 lead into halftime.
Carlow (3-11-1, 2-5 AMCC) held the Lions scoreless for 50 minutes until Alayna Winters found Emily Samluk at 71' to put Behrend up, 6-0. The Lions tacked on two more late in the match at 86' and 89' to end the game.
Behrend held a 5-0 corner kick advantage on the day.
The Celtics conclude the regular season with a trip to Pitt Greensburg for a 3:15 p.m. AMCC match Oct. 29.
