Slow start for Women’s Soccer results in loss to Pitt Greensburg
GREENSBURG, Pa. --- Carlow University women’s soccer ended the regular season with a 6-0 loss to Pitt Greensburg in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match Tuesday.

GREENSBURG, Pa. --- Carlow University women's soccer ended the regular season with a 6-0 loss to Pitt Greensburg in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match Tuesday.
The Bobcats (10-3-3, 6-1 AMCC) – who currently sit second in the AMCC standings – outshot the Celtics (3-12-1, 2-6 AMCC) 30-3 on the day.
Pitt Greensburg scored five of its six goals in the first half alone.
Anna Gribik (Clarion, Pa./Clarion Area HS) and Kaitlyn Reap (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area HS) recorded Carlow's two shots on goal in the match – one in the first half, the other in the second.
Goalkeeper Lyndsey Szekely (North Huntington, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) suffered the loss after making seven stops in the first half. Elizabeth Knight (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) made two saves in the second half.
Pitt Greensburg scored its first goal in the fifth minute, and Emily Bonelli sank two just 35 seconds apart at 13'.
Bonelli assisted on another goal at 19', and although the Celtics held the Bobcats scoreless for over 26 minutes, Pitt Greensburg landed a late goal at 45' to head into the locker room ahead, 5-0.
Kathryn Chiado tallied the Bobcats' final goal at 52'. Carlow held Pitt Greensburg scoreless for the remainder of the second half but could not counter.
Riley Gesinski and Logan Jennings recorded one goal and one assist apiece, and Pitt Greensburg held an 11-4 corner kick advantage on the day.
The Celtics wait to see if they earned a bid to the USCAA Championship Nov. 14-18. Bid Day is Nov. 6.
