HAMBURG, N.Y. --- Carlow University women's soccer lost a 3-0 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest to Hilbert College on the road Saturday.
It was one of Carlow's most productive nights offensively since the beginning of the season.
Amara Battista (South Park, Pa./South Park HS) struck four shots on goal but could not get any past the Hilbert keeper. Masoka Amisi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brashear HS), Camden Armstrong (Meadville, Pa./Meadville Area Senior HS) and Emma Paul (Naples, Fla./Naples HS) each added a shot on goal in the effort.
Elizabeth Knight (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) made seven saves in the complete game effort in net.
The Hawks (5-4-1, 1-1 AMCC) outshot the Celtics 26-11 (10-7 on goal) and held a narrow 5-4 margin in corner kicks.
Ja'Lynn Sanders scored the first two goals for Hilbert and added an assist on the third. The Hawks scored their third goal at 48' and although Carlow held them scoreless the remainder of the match, the Celtics could not recoup the deficit.
Carlow travels to Pitt Greensburg for a 4 p.m. AMCC match Oct. 8.
