Tennis comes up short against Saint Vincent College
GREENSBURG, Pa. --- Carlow University tennis hosted NCAA DIII Saint Vincent College Saturday at Greensburg Racquet Club.
GREENSBURG, Pa. --- Carlow University tennis hosted NCAA DIII Saint Vincent College Saturday at Greensburg Racquet Club.
The Bearcats (8-9) defeated the Celtics (0-2), 7-0.
Josephine Kobak took a set off Lydia Lieb in the No. 4 singles spot, 7-5, to start off her match. Lieb picked up a quick, 6-0, win over Kobak in the next set to force a tiebreaker round where Lieb defeated Kobak, 10-6, to ultimately win the match.
Kobak was also part of the No. 2 doubles team alongside Jensen Stolitza that took three games from the Bearcats in a 6-3 loss.
With a limited number of players due to illness or injury, the Celtics were forced to forfeit the No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles spots, handing Saint Vincent a few unearned points.
The Celtics travel to Midway University for a 9 a.m. match March 25.
