Saint Vincent outlasts Tennis in nonconference match

LATROBE, Pa. --- Carlow University tennis lost a competitive, 6-3, match to Saint Vincent College on the road Friday.

The No. 1 doubles duo of Karissa Miller and Julia Piatt secured an 8-3 win to start the day, while Caitlin McCarthy and Jensen Stolitza dropped a close 8-7 match in the No. 2 doubles spot.

Miller and Piatt also won their singles matches, with Miller pulling out a tie-break set, 1-0.

McCarthy, Josie Kobak and Reagan Redford won several sets between them, but the Bearcats (3-0) came out on top.

Carlow's trip to the Grove City College Invitational Saturday was canceled due to inclement weather. The Celtics host Penn State Behrend Sept. 23 for a 9 a.m. match at Alpha Tennis & Fitness.
