ERIE, Pa. --- Carlow University tennis lost a 6-1 AMCC match at Penn State Behrend Saturday afternoon.
The Lions (3-2, 2-1 AMCC) swept the doubles matches 6-4, 6-2 and 6-3 to earn the doubles point.
Carlow (3-5, 2-3 AMCC) battled through the singles matches, as Caitlin McCarthy (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton HS) narrowly lost at No. 2 singles, 7-5 and 6-4.
Elle Duda (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park HS) earned Carlow's lone singles point after tying the first game 6-6 and falling in a 7-5 tiebreaker. Duda swept the final two games, 6-2 and 10-8 to win.
The Celtics travel to Thiel College for a 4:30 p.m. match Oct. 11.
