Tennis opens spring season with loss to Saint Vincent

GREENSBURG, Pa. --- Carlow University tennis hosted Saint Vincent College at Greensburg Racquet Club and opened the spring season with a 6-1 loss to the Bearcats.

GREENSBURG, Pa. --- Carlow University tennis hosted Saint Vincent College at Greensburg Racquet Club and opened the spring season with a 6-1 loss to the Bearcats.

The Celtics faced a similar outcome the last time these two teams competed in the fall.

Saint Vincent swept the doubles matches to earn the point during the two hour long match.

Caitlin McCarthy (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton HS) earned Carlow's win in the No. 2 singles spot with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Rachel Zgurich.

Reagan Redford (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon McMillan HS) won four games out of two sets played in the No. 5 singles spot on the day.

Carlow returns to the court when they host Mount Aloysius College March 9.
